How it works
Learn. Recall. Reinforce. Remember.
Four stages, one loop. Retlo keeps you moving through it with the words that need your attention.
- 01Learn
Understand the word.
Definition, simple meaning, an example sentence, synonyms, antonyms, a mnemonic and pronunciation — so the word makes sense before you practise it.
- 02Recall
Don't just recognise the answer. Say it.
Practise out loud. Your coach asks, you answer by speaking, and Retlo evaluates what you meant rather than the exact words you used. You can type instead whenever you prefer.
- 03Reinforce
Targeted practice on your weak words.
Retlo learns which words you struggle with and gives you targeted practice, mixing them with new words and overdue reviews.
- 04Remember
Words come back so they stay with you.
Each word is scheduled to return based on how well you recalled it, so the ones you nearly lost show up again sooner.
Just talk to your coach.
No typing. No endless flashcards. Just speak. Hands-free practice with spoken answers, feedback on what you said, and a “next” voice command to keep going.
Example session
Your coach asks
What does alacrity mean?
You said: It means eager willingness.
Retlo said: Correct. Nice work.
